what is protein c diffency?

Question:
related to pregancy

Answers:
These are inherited disorders caused by deficiency of the plasma proteins C or S, which are naturally occurring anticoagulants (they prevent blood clots). Affected people are at increased risk of developing blood clots which would make you a high risk pregnancy.
I suggest that you see a hematologist and be followed by a perinatologist to be treated with some sort of anticoagualtion during your pregnancy.

Since this is genetic, I also suggest you have the rest of your family tested.

Below is some more information.

Good Luck!

Other Answers:
Might need to talk to a doctor if that is what you are experiencing
People with protein C deficiency have a tendency to form blood clots too easily. Many people dont know they have it until they get a clot in the leg veins. It is an inherited disease, and some of your family members may be affected as well.

You really want to know if you have this before you get pregnant because of the increased risk of clotting when you are pregnant. You might need blood thinners around the time you deliver. You should also know that oral contraceptive pills are more risky for you than for others if you have protein C deficiency.

Persons with protein C deficiency should avoid aspirin and some other anti-inflammatory drugs.
