Answers:
No kind of schooling is free except elementary and high school..
Other Answers:
Whoever that was who answered "no education is free except elementary and high school" obviously doesn't know what CME is. For their benefit, CME is Continuing Medical Education. These are units required to maintain an existing license to practice.
Thus said, my friend, run a search for "online CME for medical technologist" and you will find what you're looking for. I, too, do my CME's online and I'm fortunate in that my hospital offers an online program free of charge. Check out these sites and see what they have to offer. A word of advice, next time you need to know anything, try running a search first and chances are you'll find it.
You can now get free CME from CAP if your laboratory subscribes to any CAP samples. You need to know what the lab's CAP ID number is (it is on the package and on the paperwork accompanying the survey) and apply for a password. After that you are good to go. ASCP website may also have some free CME that you can get. Ortho wire has CME but the free stuff is too simplistic and the more advanced programs charge you for the service. Thank you for advancing your knowledge. Learning is a lifetime process. Happy hunting.
For those not in the know: CAP = College of American Pathologists ASCP = American Society of Clinical Pathologists Ortho - be sure to include Diagnostics if you do a web search for Ortho or you will get all kinds of junk
