Question:
an orthopedic question

Answers:
Garden described four types according to the order of displacement.it is done like this:
A: Non-displaced Fractures (20%)
Type 1: Stress Fracture - Valgus impaction of head
Type 2: Complete, non-displaced fracture
B: Displaced Fractures
Type 3: Varus displacement of femoral head
Type 4: Fracture fragments completely displaced
the classification used also in Management of the fracture;for Non-displaced fracture (Type 1 or 2)
1-Bone impaction provides fracture stability
2-Bedrest results in 90% union
3-Open reduction and Internal Fixation: 100% union ,are used and for Displaced fracture (Type 3 or 4)
1-Open reduction and Internal Fixation is needed.
however some orthopedists believe that the Garden classification is not reproducible and does not lead us to the right treatment.
