Question:
the doc said my post void residual was a bit abnormal and that he found numerous kidney stones in my left and right kidneys. i'm very worried about the urinary retention. there wasn't any hydronephrosis or anything like that found. for the past two years I have had to urinate frequently.. lately I have had to urinate more frequently at night. I'm 25 years old and I'm really scared by this finding. can someone give me some input? thanks

Answers:
Do you have diabetes? How much was your post void residual? A lot of people have kidney stones. When they are floating around and not stuck in a ureter, they are no problem.
You should ask your doctor what his plan of care would be. Usually, detrol is given for urinary retention and frequency. You can look that up on the internet.
Also, a BUN would be elevated if you are over flowing with a lot of urine and not able to pee it out for a period of time, but that does not sound like your problem.
