Anyone had non hodgkinsons lymphoma or even Leukeimia??

Could you tell me what to expect? ( not medical facts) just actual real symptoms.

I've had hodgkins lymphoma - cancer of the lymphatic system and is related to leukaemia. This is what happened to me. I had 8 months of chemotherapy and 3 weeks of radiotherapy. I lost most of my hair and had days when I felt really low. I was lucky because I was never really sick although sickness is one of the other side effects. A couple of other things you could expect are loss of weight and loss of appetite. Again, I never really lost much weight - I never went below 8 stone. My usual weight was between 8 and 8 and a half stone. I never really lost my appetite either but I did discover that I couldn't eat bananas or use proper cutlery. Bananas contain potassium and tasted different and I used plastic cutlery for the same reason. I had a couple of wigs made before I lost my hair and they were as close to my own hair as they could be. I even styled them the same way. If you didn't know I had cancer then they looked like my own hair.

Try and stay positive - easier said than done. I hope you have alot of people supporting you. I had and I used their support more than I thought I would.

You won't die. I have known two people with this condition, and both are alive and well. Very well, in fact. The worst thing they experienced were the effects of chemotherapy, but this treatment is very effective for the disease. If it is you, I wish you well. My mother got non hodgkinsons lymphoma 7 years ago and is fine now. She will never be the same again but is glad to be alive. Its hard to tell you what to expect of the illness because when you have this, the treatment is more sever than the illness. If you told me before hand what my mother would have to go through to survive I would have said no way. But when people find themselves in these situations they find an inner strenght that they never even new they had themselves. The symtoms can differ in my mothers case the glands in her throat were effected so the signs were constant sore throats but thes glands are also in your stomach so I'm afraid I can't help you with symptoms there. o.k. I will tell you something you probably are not expecting to hear. If a doctor has "diagnosed" you with leukemia, well, it's possible that you don't have it. Let me explain. Doctors study medicine, right? They study more about what to prescribe for what condition rather than looking for the cause. And when they actually do look for the cause, they are forgetting to look at one thing. Fungus. Do you know that having a severe fungus problem and leukemia, are the same symptoms. And if you're not tested for fungus in particular, the results could be leukemia. Now, don't get me wrong, there are some caring doctors in this world, but there are natural and proven ways to cure cancer. But, the doctor won't tell you that, where would he make his dollar from? Think about it, If I have a cure for something,its inexpensive, and it could benefit the whole world, well I could tell everyone, right, but I'd rather charge them to go through chemo and all kinds of medicines to make money. I couldn't be a rich doctor by giving away cures, right? Even if the cells with Leukemia are checked alongside with fungus ones, they look almost exactly the same. How would you get fungus? In your food. No, not moldy food. Do you eat a lot of corn? Peanuts? Any type of grains that could have been stored in a silo? If so, check into it. Your doctor would say you're crazy if you asked to get checked for this, especially if you said a girl on the internet told you this. But there are people studying this. Try to find this series of books by Doug Kaufmann, The Fungus Link 1,2,3. He also has one on cancer. It wont kill you to look into this right? And it might kill you to not. Do you know also that chemo inhibits the growth of fungus, so if you have a serious fungal infection, and they help it to get worse, what do you think is going to happen. Okay, but if after everything, you have decided that you have this leukemia, look into Ayurvedic Medicine from India. I've heard that it can cure ANYTHING, including cancer, if done right. Check around, you've got nothing to lose. Oh, and I am not a doctor, and I am not telling you to quit going to the doctor, just check your options. And last but not least. About the freak that wrote that nice input, don't focus on the negative, focus on the positive. You knew there would be some cold-hearted animals creeping around on the internet, right? MY MOM DID, SHE DIED THIS MARCH AND WE DIDN'T FIND OUT SHE HAD IT TIL JANUARY, BY THEN IT WAS SO FAR ADVANCED SHE;D HAD IT FOR OVER 2 YEARS AND THE DOCTORS DIDN'T CATCH IT HER STOMACH BOTHERED HER ALL THE TIME AND THEY TREATED HER FOR GAS,SHE DIDN'T TAKE CHEMO ,SHE WAS 79,IF YOU ARE YOUNG YOU CAN FIGHT IT SHE HAD PARKINSON ALSO AND WAS ALREADY WEAK,SHE DIED AT HOME MY SISTERS AND ME STAYED AROUND THE CLOCK AND SHE WAS ON PAIN MED, PAIN PATCH AND TOWARDS THE END SHE HAD A PAIN SUPPOSITORY, SHE THREW UP JUST ABOUT EVERYDAY SHE FINALLY WENT TO BED AND SHE DIDN'T GET OUT AGAIN
