Any allergy sufferers who have been truly cured by immunotherapy?
Question:
I already see some improvements compared to last summer, but maybe it is just that these weeks there was less pollen in the air. I am really really hoping to get better and be able to forget about this illness one day! :)
Please inform me if you know some success stories - I think, hearing them would really give me some hope!
Also, if the answer is yes to my question, please tell me if you applied any kind of alternative medicine techniques or lifestyle changes (nutrition changes, meditation, yoga, others) that helped you.
Thanx in advance,
Miss Hope
:-)
Answers:
i think they work temporarily. they try to de-sensitize you to the allergen. (make you less sensitive) my sister has a really bad case of asthma when it comes to dust so we brought her to an allergy specialist. and he would inject allergens (tolerable ones) to her body followed by nebulizer therapy (because these would trigger her asthma) so she was ok after the therapy. she rarely had any asthma attacks. but that was about 5 years ago. now, i don't know if her dust allergies are back, or it's the pollen -- but she's been having asthma attacks. the pollen -- she's been exposed for the past 4 or 5 years and never had an asthma attack. then suddenly, she developed the allergy again.
speak to your doctor about it. im not sure if it's permanent.

ooooh, me me me!!, u have to sniff baking soda and glue for the full effect though, otherwise you will die
I've never heard any success stories for immunotherapy - though , I wasn't really looking for them. I have heard a lot of success stories for OPC's like Pycnogenol, Grape Seed extract.etc. Let me know if you need more info.

Not immuno- but I am allergic to bee-stings and most insect bites. I have been taking 2 pellets of Apis Homeopathic every day for the last 2 months. I have been bit and stung in the interim and had no anaphalactic shock syndrome symptoms at all.
