What happens when you stop taking chemotherapy?

Question: My mom is struggling with cancer very bad. She says after she gets her chemo she has pain so bad that she can't stand it. She says she wants to stop the chemo because it just hurts to bad. What will happen to her if she stops the treatment? Thanks for your time.

Please, call your Mom's doctor and tell him that she if thinking of stopping the chemo. He will be able to tell you what she might expect..There may also be something the doctor could give her for the pain she feels after receiving the chemo.....Really ONLY the doctor can answer this question...
