My son got bit by a fly at the beach.Blood dribled down his leg. Now he has a bruise what do I do?
Question:
Thanks
Answers:
Sounds like a horsefly. If he has a normal temperature, then all you can do is wait. The bite will feel like a pulsating bruise for about a week, but so long as it doesn't break open again.don't worry about it.
If he developes a temp and sweats, take him to the ER as he might have picked up a serious bug from whomever the fly bit last.
To soothe the bruise, use some heliachryssum and lavendar oils on the surface and rotate ice packs and epsom salt baths.a little children's tylenol may help too!

Take him to a dermatologist- they can answer that question better than anyone out here can (even a dermatologist on-line-he'd still have to see it). Also, start carrying Off or some other
repellent, you don't want any more cranky boys with blood dribbling down their legs do you?
TRY GOING TO A DOCTOR IF IT GETS WORSE OR IF YOUR CONSERNED! There are several biting flies, with different scientific and common names (mostly referred to as deerflies or horseflies).
They can carry disease (just like a mosquito can) but mostly the bites are just painful.
If you are concerned or there is sign of infection or fever or other reaction, you should, of course, see a doctor.
see a doctor ask a doctor would be a better answer. instead of asking others who may not have the knowledge. Clean the wound with rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide, apply an antibacterial ointment, and cover the wound with a sterile bandage. If there is an infection take your child to the doctor for professional help. I wouldn't worry about malaria or any other blood borne diseases unless you are in a third world country.
seeing his blood does not clot and keep dribling down his leg, I suspect the fly has some sort of anti-coagulant in its saliva. Or your son has a blood clotting disorder very similar to the Russian royalty that was cured by Rasputin.
Better see a doctor to be certain, and to get the right treatment
