My baby has RSV I have been feeling ill as well?

Question:

I am beginning to believe I have the virus as well. I have not been exposed to many sick children could the virus make me extremely ill as well? I have had a terrible cough stuffy nose, sore throat, achey, chills, fever. Could i get pneumonia from this? I know babies can (my baby has it and is being treated and closely monitored) I am very concerned as I was having chest pains last night and my lungs are burning. SHould I see my dr? I am a smoker (outside only because of the baby) I have tried 3 times to quit without results including using medications to help.

my now 13 year old had rsv when an infant...i didn't get it, but i would assume you could get rsv as an adult.
