Can you give yourself genital herpes from having a fever blister?
Question:
Answers:
Technically I guess you could, but this would be REALLY rare. The only way fever blisters (cold sores) can be transmitted to the genital area are by rubbing the fever blisters and then rubbing your genital area, or for you to give yourself oral sex (I don't know anyone who could do this though!). You would really have to rub A LOT in order to get genital herpes from your own cold sores.
You would more likely get genital herpes from having sex with someone who has genital herpes or by having someone with cold sores give you oral sex.
It's always a good idea for someone with cold sores to wash their hands after touching a cold sore.
Can you reach that far?
