I guess it is possible to go 25 years without an outbreak. It does seem highly unlikely but I guess it could be possible. It's been about 2 years since I had one. But I know that's not 25 years!
It's good that he is going to go and get tested again. His first doctor may have diagnosed him wrong.

your sister can still catch herpes from him even if he had no outbreak. the best what she can do is to protect herself (condom) and if he didnt have an outbreak in 25 years, that is strange. only the first outbreak is the most prominent and painful. the other ones might be so mild in nature he probably didnt even know he was having an outbreak. let him get tested. but once you catch that virus it never leaves your body. it stays dormant in the nerve endings in your genital area and waits for when your body is fighting another infection and then it comes out. tell your sis to be smart and protect herself

A friend of mine was diagnosed with herpers and all her doctor did was look at it and say "It's herpes". didn't do any testing or anything, and it turns out she was wrong. I'd tell your sister to wait for his bloodwork to come back before she engages in anything sexual with him.
yes it is possible for herpes to be in the body and not know it or have an outbreak. i know some patients who had herpes and it didnt appear for 30 years. there is now a cure for it. talk to a doctor who can make an appointment for laser removal with medications and ointments after.

wear area .if your sister hasnt had any break outs yet, great , my opioin is she still has time to step away.she also might have a good fighting immune system..but as we age we change to the down level..herpas isnt something she can over come by night, it effects ever one differently..men dont usually show ther e breakout periods, women get blisters down there at least 1time a month, right around there period or after there period..clean area after every pee time ,keep it dry, use cotton wear. no thongs ,silk wear ,panthose,i know is out but they trigger the out break. douch with warm water and a little of iodine..its a very painful thing to deal with.cause she has no outbreak yet ,get out before its to late , you dont need a blood test for herpes.its a decease on the out side skin..check him out the days he chooses not to have sex he might have a skin scab, dry erea redness, itching, but then again sex is sex someone had sex when they had a out break and didnt care about there partner, more like you wont be here tomorrow ,i live for today attitude.also fever blisters in the mouth shows his not only infected in one area sex is sex , where you go doing it , we can not protect the mouth areas ,
I've done a lot of research on Herpes since I have it and you can definately go that long with no outbreak, especially men. Most men are asymptomatic anyway. I have met some people that have had one outbreak and that was only the initial one. The longer you have it the less likely you are to break out b/c your body learns to suppress it better. I have had it for 3.5 years and I have had 2 outbreaks but everyone is different.

Yes, a person can go 25 years without ever showing symptoms of the disease. Your sister has a serious question to ask herself. Does she care enough for this man to share this burden with him for THE REST OF HER LIFE.
Although I have read that many people live very satisfing lives with this disease, I just can't neglect the fact that all relationships don't last.
