Do you have to touch the puss from fever blisters and then your penis to get genital herpes?

Question:

Answers:
A person can pass herpes whether they have blisters or not.

Fever blisters, or cold sores, are usually spread to another person by just kissing them.

Cold sores can also be spread to the genital area by touching them and then touching the genital area, or by a person with cold sores giving a person oral sex.

Colds sores are generally herpes simplex virus 1, while genital herpes is generally herpes simplex virus 2. Both herpes simplex virus 1 and 2 can cause BOTH cold sores and genital herpes though.
i don't know anything about genital herpes, but i do know that if you're worried anough about it to post here, you probably have herpes.

go to your doctor as soon as you can and get tested.
Your "fever blisters" have to be caused by herpes for it to become genital herpes. Also, you most likely won't transfer it by simply touching it. The herpes would have to come into contact with broken skin or the urethra to infect you. Why you would smear puss on your penis is a different issue.
