Will my coronary stent cause a problem with airport security?

Question:
I was told I had to carry a card at all times. Why? Because it's going to case airport problems?

Answers:
You were asked to carry your card because in the unlikely event that god-forbid you have a sudden cardiac event and need an emergency angioplasty then the medical staff will be alerted to your prior procedure(s)

The stent is a couple of millimeters diameter by 8 or 10 millimeters long which is tiny - and is mesh in construction - it is about the same metal content as a tooth filling. I doubt that it is enough metal to be a problem with the general detectors. That said, a hand held wand at the airport once detected the aluminum in my antiperspirant.
Definitely carry your card. Then you'll be checked over with a security wand, but don't be stubborn about this. If you are, ole Homeland will delight in making you miss your plane.
