I'm having a BIOPSY done to a lump on my upper arm. What can I expect?

Question:
This lump is not UNDER my arm in the lympe node. It is on my upper arm on the muscle. Does anyone know how they are going to do this Biopsy?

Answers:
i recently had a core needle biopsy on a lump in my breast, the area was numbed, and after that i didn,t feel a thing,a needle was used the end of it was a bout the size of a pencil lead, they took about six samples, the nurses were fantastic, i was dreading going for mine but it wasn,t nowhere as bad as i was expecting, the whole thing took about an hour, then i was able to come home, after the numbness had wore off it was a little tender, was a bit sore for a few days, then i was able yo take dressing off, i was one off the lucky ones my results were benign, i had to wait a week for results.. good luck sure hope all goes well for you, and try not to worry too much.....
They are going to cut a piece of the lump out and check to see what it consists of. They are probably looking to see if its cancer or something else!
