I can't remember the name of the heart condition that I inherited from my Mom and I can't ask her right now

Question: Okay it's like heart papatations, it feels like a butterfly is fluttering in my heart and then it starts to hurt untill I take a deep breath like I am going to blow up a balloon. I know that when it hits it's peak the heart doesn't stop rapidly beating and they once gave my Mom a medicine that stoped her heart and then started it back up agian. Anyone know what this is called?
