i always have swollen glands in my neck. i had my tonsils removed a while back, why are they still swollen?

Question:
wouldnt tonsils removed fix the problem? what are some things that could be causing this? help!

Answers:
Tonsils are only one set of glands located in the neck area. Lymph nodes, salivary glands, adenoids, thyroid, parathyroid, glossal ducts and many more are all there too. Besides the swollen glands, do you have any other symptoms? Sometimes, after having a severe swelling, the glands don't shrink back to their same size. As long as there are no other symptoms, this is okay.

You should probably check with your doctor and make sure all is normal, but having your tonsils removed only fixed one problem.

EATING SOMETHING YOUR ALERGIC TO.

Your tonsils and glands are not the same thing. If they are swollen and hurting, you need to see your doctor.
