I am Diabetic and weigh 65kg(143 lbs I think)..?


Question:
I am 62 years old man and 180 cm(5'11") tall. According to a chart I should weigh 72 kg (158.7lbs). I am trying hard to increase my weight at the same time maintaining my bolld sugar within the limits. I am from India. Is there anyway to increase my weight?

I am 63, 5' 11" and 143 pounds. We are the same, just in different places. Why would you want to gain weight? I have never felt so comfortable about my body. The most I ever weighed was 180 pounds. Are you fat of lean? Since I work out about 1 hour a day I have very little fat. Perhaps the answer is in working out. I have been prediabetic for 8 years and my numbers are better than they were 8 years ago. Good luck.

dont ppl w/diabetes usually gain weight? if ur trying 2 gain weight w/out increasing ur blood sugar try eating more meat , eggs, and cheese i guess meat, eggs and cheese all are high protein. which tends to raise blood sugar. not all diabetics gain weight (responding to previous answer entry)
i will have to research your question..my step father is diabetic and i have had to recently watch what he eats.you arent' underweight all that much.

Try eating more Complex carbohydrates, it sounds like your eating mostly protein.


Common examples of complex carbohydrates. are rice, pastas, potatoes and whole grain bread.

Beans contain complex carbohydrates all by themselves.
All grains, whether whole grain or processed flours are complex carbohydrates, but whole grain flours contain more bran and fiber along with the complex carbohydrates.
