doctors answer only please?

Question:
I have been sick for over 2 years, with alot of MS symptoms including brain lesions, etc. sensitivity to heat, and exhaustion, but the doctors are reluctant to call it MS, they are calling it a "inflammatory demyelinating disease"? why do you think they won't dx, and where can I go for help. The doctors recommended Mayo, but my insurance won't cover it.

Answers:
(yes, I am a real doctor - and I don't consider answering questions - either from my own patients, or "cyber-questions" a waste of time...)
I think that one of the reasons that your physicians are reluctant to call your condition multiple sclerosis is that the demyelination that occurs in multiple sclerosis is generally NOT inflammatory. I don't know what sort of diagnostic studies you have had, but they may be thinking that you have some kind of vasculitis.
If your doctors are recommending a consultation at the Mayo Clinic, if your primary care physician and specialists who have seen you will write strongly-worded letters to your insurance company that they believe a consultation at one of the Mayo facilities (either Rochester or Scottsdale) is a medical necessity, then it will be real hard for your insurance company to legitimatlely deny this consultation.
Good luck in fighting with third parties - and good luck with your health problem. I do hope that you will find some answers. and some relief for your distressing symptoms.

i cant even imagine that any real doctors are wasting their time on this site.
You would be hard pressed to find a doctor here. You cannot get a diagnosis over the Internet. If I were you, I'd find someone willing to give you a second opinion and perhaps, another clinic to go to if your insurance won't pay for it. Maybe you can meet with a doctor at the Mayo clinic who might treat you for less money.
thanks for writing here. :) i think you should go to a brain doctor and have them to diagnose you. they will defintely find out whats wrong with you.
i'd go with drwag1 says. . he seems to know what he is talking about
