Why is there a blotch of skin on my neck that is lighter than the rest?

It's about the size of my thumb and extends from my jawline to the side of my neck-wtf?

I would say that it's scar tissue.I have the same thing ,only the one side of my face is that way No visible scar,but I did I header off a horse and it skinned up my face.I used vitamin E oil on it ,and it healed great,and looks fine,except when I get tanned ,then it really sticks out like a sore thumb.Have you ever been injured there?( It could even have been years and years ago)

sounds like sun damage i have this also
