it is a disease
Alcoholism is a disease..Just like drug addiction.
I thought it already was listed in the American Medical Journal.
no, because its your choice to put the alcohol to your lips. its a mental need, like smoking, is smoking itself in diseases? nope. just the cancer it causes. liver damages are listed to be the cause of alcohol, but drinking it is not a disease and condition. if you can just control the urge to drink, get in your right mind to push it away, seek help if you must. but there is no medication that can make it go away, just will power and determination. most drink to forget hard times/past experiences. if that person can just seek counseling or medication, then they wont have to forget, they would have peace of mind from getting outside help instead of holding it in.
I'm an alcoholic and it is NOT a disease,It's a choice.I can choose to drink or not to drink and any other lush that says otherwise,is just using the excuse for their crutch. This isn't exactly bad, because whatever gets a person off the sauce is good,if it works for them.
