my full time maid servant's brother is having T.B.?
Question:
Answers:
TB is very infectious especially to small kids. You're maid will probably visit her brother regularly. So for your sake and your family, ask her to get a skin test at local clinic or hospital to makes sure that she hasn't caught it from her brother. How is TB spread?
TB is spread through the air from one person to another. The bacteria are put into the air when a person with active TB disease of the lungs or throat coughs or sneezes. People nearby may breathe in these bacteria and become infected.
When a person breathes in TB bacteria, the bacteria can settle in the lungs and begin to grow. From there, they can move through the blood to other parts of the body, such as the kidney, spine, and brain.
TB in the lungs or throat can be infectious. This means that the bacteria can be spread to other people. TB in other parts of the body, such as the kidney or spine, is usually not infectious.
People with active TB disease are most likely to spread it to people they spend time with every day. This includes family members, friends, and coworkers.

talk with you physician.
take care of your own kids you moron! Unless she lives with her brother (or lived with him recently) it isn't likely that she is contagious. Speak to your Doctor about having the TB skin test done, it is relatively painless and simple and yields quick results.
tuberculosis,,,Tuberculosis is one of the most deadly and common major infectious diseases today . These people are at particular risk of tuberculosis infection and active tuberculosis disease .
Does she live with him? TB is not terribly contagious but you should ask your Dr.
I would be concerned for the children. I would said, take your maid to a nearby health department to run a t.b. test. They're usually free and the staff could also answer your questions. A person can spread TB only if he is passing out the bacteria in sputum. If the maid's brother has TB and she is healthy, she cannot possibly give it to others ,as she doesn't have it herself. If she is living with him, get her X rayed to make sure that she doesn't have it.
If she does not have active pulmonary tuberculosis with a cough no one in your house is in danger. She might change clothes after she visits him, but he is probably not contagious either.
T.B. does not spread unless it is an "open case". It is unlikely for her to contract tb just by visiting her brother once. nevertheless, ask her to stay alert & if any symptoms of tb appear (cough/evening rise of temperature/weight loss) she should consult a physician immediately. you do not need to worry bout your kids unless your maid-servant also contracts the disease. TB spreads through droplets i.e. from nasal secretion, expectoration etc. if any person suffers from open TB, do not let his/her 'droplets' to pollute the environment. i hope u know what to do. all the best :-)
