You might want to get your doctor to check for rheumatoid arthritis, especially if you have anyone in your family with it. They will ask you your symptoms and check your blood to see. You can go on WebMd and it will tell you a little more about it.

High Lisa. There are many different types of arthritis and autoimmune diseases that can cause the symptoms you describe. A good rheumatologist can help you 'rule out' these many possibilities. A good Chiropractor may also be a 'life saver' for you.
I would also like to suggest a very powerful book by Sherry Rogers, M.D. that explains the causes and cures of many debilitating pains like you describe. The book is called: "Pain Free in 6 Weeks". Dr. Rogers is a specialist in environmental medicine. She explains in the book the many common causes of various arthritic and allergic and environmentally induced chronic pains.
Food allergies (especially to the group of foods known as 'nightshades', unrecognized intestinal problems such as bacterial dysbiosis and/or 'leaky gut syndrome', heavy metal toxicities (lead, mercury, cadmium, etc.) and many other COMMON but unrecognized causes of chronic pain are explained.
I highly recommend this book. It is available at Amazon.com or from the publisher at 1-800-846-6687.
Best wishes and good luck.
