TB is very contagious. It is spread by droplets. Meaning when someone coughs microscopic droplets hang in the air and you breath them in. You can get TB ANYWHERE!. The mall, in line at a store etc.
Some people will have a positive skin reaction. But that does not mean that all the time that they have it. It is an indication that they were exposed. Once you test positive on your skin you go for a chest xray. and never have another skin test just a yearly chest xray to make sure you do not have active TB.
AND NO YOU WILL NOT BE FIRED FROM YOUR JOB IN THE HEALTHCARE FIELD
You will just have to take a six month course of medication.
