Anything that tastes good is full of sugar! Seriously, stay away from candy, cakes, cookies, and anything with a lot of corn syrup.
Coke
Anything that tastes good is usually high in sugar
need i say candy is really loaded w/sugar. BAD SUGAR
pepsi. um chocolate. cany.um lemonade etc
Refined sugar found in cakes, sweets, and fizzy drinks, as well as potatoes, white flour and pasta, is toxic according to Sugar Busters. Their theory is that eating these types of foods causes the body to produce increased amounts of the hormone insulin, which in turn encourages weight to be stored as fat.
upside
Most people consume too much sugar (approximately one pound per person per week) and as a result, many health organisations are trying to encourage less of a reliance on refined foods. This diet gives clear guidelines on which foods to avoid.

downside
There is no scientific justification for the premise that healthy people who eat foods high in sugar will automatically gain weight. Lumping whole foods such as potatoes, corn, and carrots with the 'forbidden' sugars makes no nutritional sense.
Soda has 12 teaspoons per 12 ounce can!! Eat only fresh food or food you cook & can control ingredients. Fruit has sugar, but it's natural.ask your doctor.
candy, syrups, sodas et al.
Anything sweet and foods that are starches. Regular coke or Pepsi are high in sugar too.
It's just not plain sugar - it's starches that can turn into sugar when digested. Stay away from breads (especially white breads - they are horrible for you!), pastas, and potatoes. Eat whole grains and lean meats, and veggies. No fruit juices, except maybe V8. That should help. But also ask your OB/GYN to get you in touch with a nutritionist for more information. You don't want to jeopardize your baby's health! Nothing, not your cravings or your sweet tooth, is worth risking your baby's life! Your life could be in danger, too! Take it seriously.
look at the labels of what you want to eat. Eat things that are very low in carbahydrates. Less than 45 a meal or 25 as in between snack. Eat fruit and vegetables. An apple is 15 carbs. Stay away from anything you know is a lot of suger like soda and kool-aid and snacks.
The list is endless.Read the nutrition facts label that is on the back or side panel of every food item.
Foods that are high in sugar are all fruits, some vegetables and tons of other things. Basically your best bet would be to pretend you are on Atkins diet so that you could stay away from all forms of sugar and carbs. Remember sugar hides all over just when you think things are safe they might have natural sugar. Check the label before consuming.
most kid cereals, cake, candy, regular sodas, fast food sandwich buns, fruit "drinks", ( not 100% juice, but "drinks", there is a difference). Some fruit juices are like, grape juice.
Fruits like grapes the full fruit are high in sugar.
Grape juice is used to sweeten, (" no sugar added"), fruit juice blends, like Dole fruit juice blends, Juicy Juice, among others..
I had gestational diabetes with both my kids, it's vital to keep your sugar under control..
It is a serious complication.
Follow your diabetic diet to the letter too. Keep close track of your blood sugar levels.
Gestational diabetes is a looking glass into your future, you can become diabetic if you are careless with your diet, weight, food choices.
Exercise too..
Foods to avoid.
-Pop(most have 9-12 tsp sugar)
-corn syrup, honey, molasses, or maple syrup, or jams and jellies
-Bananas
-Sweet potatoes
-If you have tea or coffee with sugar, try to lessen the amt, or none at all (also avoid flavoured coffees/drinks which has hidden sugar)
Good luck with your test, and have a happy pregnancy!
why would you be told to avoid sugar for 3 days? the test would mean nothing to anyone if you went back to sugar on the 4th day. if i wanted to see if i had regular diabetes i would go for the test after eating what i normally eat all the time. something does not compute
you can look for a list that gives you the number of carbonyte for anything you eat
I have a list but it is in Dutch
Of course chocolate and sweets have a high sugar
fruit like raisins, banana are very high in sugar
don't put sugar in your coffee or tea but use a product that adds a sweet taste to it

I hope you can use this info
they mean the obvious..cakes, candy, cookies, pies, colas, sweet cereals, syrup, etc. you can still eat fruits and other healthy carbs such as whole wheat pasta, bread, tortillas, crackers, etc. white breads, pastries, etc cause a sharp rise in blood sugar.
SWEET THINGS CANDY, PIE, CAKES, JUICE I have taken this test repetedly the dr thinks all fat people develope diabetes. AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN TOLD TO AVOID THESE THEy want a true reading. you dont want the test results to come out negetive it you really have this you would want to know so you can adjust your diet and not cause your body harm.. people with Diabeties can become blind, loose toes, feet and legs from not taking care of themselves properly.. so dont alter your diet. I was always told by physican to not eat anything after midnight ie a fasting glucose test. call the lab and ask them is my true advice if not open call the drs office and ask the on call physican.. my dad would do this sort of thing not eat like he normally does a few days before a cholesterol test well what good did it do him not knowing he was a ticking time bomb we got lucky he only had two or three mini strokesTIA's but he was headed for a hudge one that could have left me with out my father to walk me down the isle last spring ok I am in my 40s but I was lucky that my dad recovered and could 7 weeks later walk me down the isle with my son to give me away.. ANY WAY WHY TAKE THE TEST IF YOUR NOT GOing TO GET THE TRUE RESULTS??
