mom can't live alone?

Question:
My bf's mother has the beginn. of ALS, she isn't able to use her left leg now, she is under dr's care, but, is using a wheelchair and then, flinging herself on the bed to get into bed.
We've lowered the bed, and put a bthrm downstairs for her.
She won't leave the house, she is having back pains from overexcerting herself, getting into bed. She has lost weight, and the neighbors try to help, but, the dog doesn't like the neighbor and tries to bit them.
We live 30 min away and both work ft, we are running over there for the littlest things, she will not admit she cannot live alone, isn't there a nurse that could come in? She has full military benefits, but, cannot seem to find the help she needs.

Answers:
Absolutely yes she can has a Nurse or Nursing assist come over to the house and care for her a few hours a day or even live in. Sometimes even the Govt will help you out on things like that. My mother used to care for ppl with Alzheimer's and that's what the families usually ended up doing. Another idea is to get her a cheap computer and hook her up to a webcam so you can keep an eye on her. I heard of a story on the news where ppl saved their diabetic mother from a coma, while being half way around the world, via a webcam. Anyway good luck and if I can think of anything else specific to help I'll come back and edit this answer.

Other Answers:
Put a pillow over her face. Problem solved.
