I was diagnosed with lung cancer. I just finish my second set of chemo. I had it once every three weeks?

Question:
per set. After the first set of chemo, they said there looks like I might also have a small suspicious looking tumor in the back lobe of my brain. At this point the doc doesn't know. My question is, after the last set, which was 2wks ago, I have had swollen ankles, and feel a little dizzy and my eyes feel blury sometimes. Has anyone else had those systems? I go for my second set of scans this weekend. I pray everything is looking better.

Answers:
The dizziness and bluriness can be side effects from the chemo, especially if you are very fatigued or are dehydrated. Make sure you are drinking at least 8-10 8oz glasses of water daily. As far as the swelling in the feet goes, it would be helpful to know what chemo drugs you are receiving. If, for example, you are taking Taxol or Taxotere, then you should be premedicating with Decadron or Dexamethasone. Swelling can be a side effect of this med - it is a steroid. Also, Taxotere can cause swelling as a side effect. Please discuss this all with you doctor when you see him/her next time.

Good luck with your scans.
I'm praying for you. I had cancer 5 years ago and chemo was hell. good luck.
