Gastritis sufferers what do you eat to sooth your stomach?

Question:
I was diagnosed with Gastritis and everything I eat makes the gas pain worse. What helps you? I appreciate any serious suggestions. I take Protonix and Gas-x (Simethicone) I may also have Gastropareses but the tests aren't back.

Answers:
Eat soluble fiber. This includes potatoes (baked, broiled, mashed - not fried - and little butter or sour cream), white breads like rolls and toast and bagels (again, little dairy), applesauce, beans, white rice (some seasoning is OK, but not a lot). I am following the IBS diet for my gas and bloating, and I have to take Gas-X only in a blue moon. By cutting back on dairy (you could be lactose intolerant), you soothe the stomach. By using soluble fiber to begin and end meals, you are giving the stomach something incredibly bulky yet not upsetting (ie, bland) on which to concentrate, with some of the other foods you like in between. As long as you try to eat small meals, and 2 soluble fiber snacks, the gas should dissipate. By reducing gas causing foods in the interim (carbonated beverages, sorbitol in the sugar-free gums, and others, you will do you stomach a world of good.

Good luck!
