Howcome when some women has allergies or the flu, their voices changes?

What causes that, I mean some women has a very deep voice that they sound like dudes?

Do they sound like dudes? I still sound like a woman. I've been told my voice drops and I sound sultry. Ha. I don't know whether to be flattered or not. Does that mean my voice sounds too high pitched when I am healthy. Now, I intentionally try to speak from my diaphram. I also notice I don't get as many cases of laryngitis anymore.
