Anyone know about this stomach disease?

Question:
I had pyloric stenosis when i was 6 weeks old and have obtained a two inch scar on the right side of the middle of my abdomen. It used to be right below my bellybutton, but has moved up since I've gotten taller. I'm 18 now and was wondering if there was anything to do to get rid of it and what that would involve. It's not a surface scar, but rather a.5 inch deep indent. My mom said the doctor just used surgical tape to "stitch" me up.

A second question...could my pyloric stenosis at 6 weeks old have caused my stomach problems now? ie: lactose intolerance, inability to eat at times, cramps in my abdomen unrelated to my menstrual cycle.

Answers:
The scar won't go away, but you could look into something like collagen injections that will fill up the "indent" and minimize the way it looks. Check with a plastic surgeon, it shouldn't cost too much or be painful.

Lactose intolerance is not related. The other problems are possibly related, you should mention them to your doctor. If they're severe enough, you should get a referral to gastroenterologist (GI doc) to investigate further.
