Hyperthyroidsm and High blood pressure are both treateable yes
it can be controlled. My b/p was 140/80 and took natural herbs. In less than a year it's down to 120/80 and watch your diet and get as much excercise as possible
High Blood Pressure (Hypertention, HTN) is often called "silent killer" because because it makes the heart work too hard. It also makes the walls of the arteries hard. People with hypertension are at increased risk for strokes, heart failure, heart attacks, and kidney damage.
Hypertension is Easily Controllable by your diet and daily activity (exercise) but requires Self-Control.
I would eat NO MORE than 2 grams of sodium everyday, PLUS DO NOT add any salt when you eat out, and try NOT to eat saturated fat.
Also, do exercise regularly. I would say simply walk half and hour a day would be enough. For more information, check out the following links. Of course best if you ask a Doctor, be sure to ask about Non-medicine treatment first.
BUT If you're NOT able to control your diet and keep exercising daily. you will NEED to tell your Doctor. So you may be prescribed medication to decrease your Blood Pressure this is VERY VERY important; again, Hypertension is a "Silent Killer" that is Easily Controllable.
AS FOR HYPERThyroidism.
People usually have Rapid Heart Rate with hyperthyroidism. Initially Doctor might give you beta-blocker (such as Lopressor) to control your heart rate along with other symptoms you might have such as anxiety and papitation (it's like you can feel your HEART beats without even placing your hand on your chest). There are some medications that doctor might give you with antithyroid medications, radioactive iodine (which destroys the thyroid and thus stops the excess production of hormones). I think the ultimate treatment is to surgically remove the thyroid- IF so you WILL need thyroid replacement for the rest of your time.
Again, ask your doctor for best answers!
