hep c question?

They say i have hep c but i had hep b when i was little and i think i get a false positve test result now when i do get tested.Any commects on this?

The HCV and HBV positives are done differently. It's kind of an apples and oranges thing - the tests are pretty specific for the antibodies. My advice is to do the test again. I have hep c and you need to know if you have it. And those folks who advocate Milk Thistle (for hep C) are right on the mark. If you have hep C, take it. The Rebetrol (riboviren) and PEG interferon treatment can be useful, too, althought I went through 2 years of it (one pre PEG and one with PEG) and still have a viral load. However, my liver doc says there is a reduction in the possibilty of liver cancer, the big worry for us with hep C. So, get rechecked, and if you drink, stop. Best of luck - we can lick this thing.
