My LDL cholesterol level is 106. Is that good or bad?
Question:
Answers:
It is good. According to a recent blood screen including lipid panel, the reference range for LDL is < 130.
For HDL the range is 40-100, and total cholesteral 70-200. The Cholesterol/HDL ratio range is 0.00 to 4.97, so look at yours, as the ratio is more indicative of heart health than just the good HDL and bad LDL readings. Triglicerides (a form of fat) are important also, with a range of 40-150. Maybe you should ask your doctor's opinion of your overall test results.
ideal is less than 70 if you have heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease or heart disease equivalent, if you have neither of these then this is good, good luck
