enlarged heart?

Question:
does anyone have or know of a person that has left ventricular heart problems. What do they usually do for it. How serious is it.

Answers:
My grandfather had cardiomyopathy and a leaky left valve;in his case, there was nothing that could be done, just take his medications for congestive heart failure. He was able to live with the problem for nearly 10 years and died at 87.Some people maybe able to have surgery to repair the valve;it's up to the doctor and patient to decide after tests and angiograms have been performed.
As to the seriousness of this condition;it can be very serious. You really need to follow the cardiologist's directions as to medications and diet; not doing so can be fatal.

I'm sure I saw something on 20/20 or one of those shows that talked about enlarged hearts. I know if the heart is way to big there is a surgery in which they can actually trim the size of the heart by removing unused pieces (or dead portions of it if it was damaged by a heart attack).
I think this problem normally occurs from having a heart attack, it enlarges the heart, causing more work for the heart.
I'd check out the American heart association web page
the webMD website is also helpful.

the heart enlarges due to high blood pressure, valve probelsm, or other reasons. it can lead to congestive heart failure if it gets bad enough, which is bad just drink Arjun TEA and you are safe..www.planetayurveda.com
