my son got diabetic when he was a year and a half (too early) , he is now 3y old , i inject him 5 times daily with insylin for his pancreas doesnt work anymore ,its painful to him therefore its painful to me , he got into a coma just before knowing the kind of illness , its a painful experience like a nightmare that i cant wake up from .

Hi! My son was diagnosed almost a year ago with type 1 so I understand how you are feeling. There is no cure for diabetes. Yes, God can heal him but all you can do is pray for that and deal with the diabetes until then because it may never happen. God would not have given you this precious little boy to take care of had you not been able to take care of him the way he deserves to be taken care of. My heart goes out to you and I pray that God gives you the peace that he has given me to deal with this. I believe that both of our sons will be better people because of this. More compassionate and sensitive to others with disabilities. Im sorry to hear about your son.what do you consider normal? It sounds as if he will always need insulin if he is getting that many injections a day.and if the pancreas just isnt working anymore then I would think his endocrinologist has suggested a transplant or other types of treatments(insulin pump).you need to speak with his doc's to find a possibly better way to deal with his illness.also your local hospital probably has some education groups and support groups for familes of diabetics contact them also

As of present, there is no cure for juvenile diabetes.at least not any that I have heard of. On the other hand, if, by normal, you are asking can your son live a fairly normal life as long as his diabetes is properly managed, then the answer is a cautious yes.

You will probably need to consult with his doctors frequently to keep them up to date on his condition and they will probably have much advice and instruction for you. You would also be wise to research advances in treatment either on the internet or at your local library. Proper diet, exercise, and medication can do much to control your son's diabetes and minimize its consequences.
