Help with Hive's or welts?? Please help?
Question:
Answers:
Have you been in the sun each time the hives came out? If so, then it's possibly solar urticaria.
Or have you been hot for whatever reason (such as eating spicy food, feeling a strong emotion like anger or embarrassment, being in a hot room or out in the sun, or after taking a hot shower or bath), then possibly cholinergic urticaria.
Both types of urticaria (hives) are physically induced rather than due to an allergy, and both are unique in that they resolve (go away) quickly. Allergy-caused hives usually last at least a day, often for several days, without resolving during that time. Also the size of the wheals (bumps) is more in keeping with cholinergic urticaria.

ohmigod me too! the last two days i've been getting hives on my arms and it's been all itchy. wow! freaky!
well what i'm gonna do is go see a doctor and maybe do an allergy test. cause i have some other allergies. it is possible to get new allergies as you get older. so make an appointment to see your family doctor and he/she should help you out. it's not a big deal.just avoid whatever caused your outbreak of hives in the first place. i'm allergic to my cat..so i'm avoiding her for a bit and all her common shedding places.
I don't know what they are, but I am sitting here with the same problem. If I scratch they spread, but if I don't touch them they go away within 15 min. Let me know if you find any answers. I remember a couple of years ago I also developed hives, My mother made me take a bath in oatmeal. It was nasty believe me but as soon as I came out of the oatmeal bath the bumps were gone completely. You might want to try the bath and if they don't go away by that then you need to go to see your doctor.
Im not sure where you are all from, but there has been a large amount of Fifth's disease on the east coast.. all the kids in the neighborhood have it. It goes away by itself but you should avoid anyone pregnant.
Hiya Carrie,
There are some excellent herbal medicines for hives and itchy welts. Someone here has already mentioned oats, which I think could be benificial in many cases.
Urtica dioca (nettle) is a great herbal medicine to take for hives, and also has a long history of external application in curing welts (it's the theory of "like cures like"), although you may be aprehensive about trying this :)
I have had some really good results with paw paw cream, we have a great brand called "Lucas'" in Australia, which can help with psoriasis, eczema, acne, cuts and abraisions, as well as hives. fresh paw paw can be used, even on open wounds, or cuts inside the mouth (and it's a yummy fruit!)
If you want a solution I suggest you visit a health care professional, and I would strongly recommend that you visit a good natural therapies practitioner.
