Can herpes be transmitted through sharing a cigarette?

Question:
I heard that with exposure to air germs die, except for TB. How about herpes?

Answers:
no, not at all, unless the person happened to have an open sore in their mouth, and the ciggie touched it, just as you take a drag and you also have an open sore and the cigg(infected) touches the sore, then it would be possible, but not if it's a simple puff

Other Answers:
Give it a try and let me know how that works out for you.
Oral herpes may.unless one of you blows it out the a**
Don't know.
the only way to get herpes is direct contact with an infected area or exchange of fluids...in which case you will be sharing a ciggarette and they may get saliva on it and herpes travels in blood, saliva, and sexual fluids. don't share the ciggarette!!!
YES
YES IT CAN.
Herpes is trnsmitten thru skin and mucus contact. If someone has an active cold sore, and you smoke the same cigarette you are at risk of getting cold sores. However, 98% of all three years old have already been exposed to Herpes 1 -- oral herpes. Different people react differently--- some people get a cold sore in the mouth only occasionally -- others have a constant outbreak on the lips continuously, so much so that the area is scarred.
Herpes is a virus not a germ. Germs are most often bacteria, fungi, and protists. Once a person gets herpes they will always have it; there is no cure for viruses.

Yes, you can get cold sores (herpes simplex virus 1) from sharing a cigarette. It's most often transmitted by kissing, but it can be transmitted by sharing a cigarette with someone who has cold sores. Cold sores can also be transmitted by sharing chap stick or lipstick.
Yes the unfiltered kind.
