just ate a cheeseburger that was really pink inside?

Question:
i wasnt paying attentiona nd i thought i had cooked it all the way thru, i know it can be dangersous not to cook burgers all the way thru..could i get really sick?

Answers:
Listen, the best burgers in my opinion are when they are pink inside. If you haven't gotten sick now you probably won't so don't worry about it. There are a few bacteria like E. Coli that can contaminant ground beef and can cause major problems. The problem however is fairly rare. We as a society are so scared of things that sometimes it doesn't make any sense. If you like your cheeseburger rare like myself and want to protect yourself also, this is what I would do. Buy a top sirloin or a round steak and ground it up.

Depends on how raw it was. if you start to throw up, or even if you start to feel stomach pains you should see your doctor.
I don't think it's very harmful eating under cooked beef. If it were chicken, or pork then I'd be worried if I were you. Mexican people eat raw hamburger meat all the time.straight from the package. It's okay for beef to be a little pink. Even though it looks gross, it probably won't make you sick.
FSIS has long advised consumers to use a food thermometer when cooking meat and poultry to ensure that a temperature sufficient to destroy bacteria has been reached. In June 1997 FSIS expanded this recommendation to include ground beef patties. Pathogens (including Salmonella and Escherichia coli O157:H7) die when exposed to heat for a specific amount of time. A ground beef patty cooked to 160 ºF is safe.

I have seen people eat burbers with it still being purple inside. They haven't gotten sick. But if you are that nervous about it maybe you should get checked out to be on the safe side.
