As long as nutritionally their needs are met then they can survive as long as their body will allow them, if the person is also immobile then there are many complications associated with that....Skin breakdown (bedsores) that is not properly cared for can lead to infection, kidney dysfunction from the lateral position the person is in , poor GI motility, heart complications from poor circulation , there is a myriad of reasons why a bedfast person needs adequate care, both for comfort. Remember QUALITY of LIFE NOT Quantity of LIFE!
As far as I am aware, they can survive indefinitely.
I think that a lot of people who are peg fed also have something else wrong with them and this is what would cause them to die rather than the peg feeding itself as they are getting all the nutrients their body needs.
