if i recieve an inheritance, how would that affect my ssi & breast cancer health insurance?

Question:

Answers:
It is income in the month received and a resource the month after. You would be ineligible for SSI in the month you receive it, and you could spend it down to under the $2000 resource limit. You must spend it only on yourself, or put it into an exempt resource, such as a home or car. Contact your local Social Security office for more details and exact facts.

If at all possible don't tell anyone cause they will deduct what you get believe me if at all possible don't claim it on anything cash the check & put it in a safe if in a bank they can trace it.I know this has happened to My Aunt she ended up only getting her SSI but only a quarter of it then she had to pay for all her meds & lost her insurance as well as her medicare.Good Luck
it would depend on the state you live in
