Is HPV a bloodborne virus?

Question:
or is it only passed durring intercourse (or other such activities)?

Answers:
There is a blood test for HPV, it is newly available. You do not have to be exposed to blood to get it (just body fluids and tissues) but the HPV DNA can be detected in the blood for diagnostic purposes. The virus can be spread to or from the genitals, anus, mouth, or throat during sexual activities. However, warts in the mouth or throat are extremely rare. You can spread the virus even if you do not have any symptoms of infection or any visible warts.

Other Answers:
yep -- it can be transmitted in the blood too
