Can you get athlete's foot on your eye?

Question:
I used to have a roommate who had the nastiest athlete's foot, the closet stank of his shoes, the side of his bed where he put his feet when he slept stank of foot odor. One time, a friend came over, and he laid down on my roommate's bed, he laid his head on the side of the bed where my roommate's feet are when he sleeps, he immediately noticed the smell, and got up. He got all scared that he might get athlete's foot on his face, and possibly into his eye.

Can this happen?

Answers:
Athletes foot is a fungus, so it is contagious. Other forms of fungus are jock itch and ringworm

Other Answers:
Athlete's foot is a fungus, so I guess it's possible if there was contamination of his eye by rubbing it or something. I would call the local pharmacist. It's free!
