Is it possible to be HIV infected by this?

Question:
If someone kills a mosquito that has sucked a lot of blood from an infected person with his fingers. Almost instantly, he cut himself n used that same finger to stop blood from oozing out. Can he be infected.?

Answers:
Well that is a question all right. Lets think about this for a minute. let me see if I have what you are asking correct first.

If some one is bitten by a mosquito and that person is HIV + and another person squishes that mosquito on the HIV+ persons arm then at almost the same instant gets a cut and uses the same finger to try to stop the bleeding. If all this is correct I would say yes is is possible, but unlikely, this is why I say this.

I live in Tennessee and a few years back we had several people contract HIV from a dentist office. Even though the virus can not live very long in the wrong inviroment it can live long enough on uncleaned dental tools.

If the mosquito is killed and then instantly the person that has the blood on his/her finger touches and exposed wound it is very possible. There are several other things to take into consideration as well. What is the viral load. The lower the load the fewer virus there are to be exsposed too. Was the blood just pooring out of the cut. Flowing blood has a cleansing effect and could has prevented the virus from gaining acces past the skin.

That is a good question and to say it is impossible is to be foolish. To say that it is probable is also foolish. I would not worry too much about it. Would most likely win the Lottery or get struck by lightening first.

Just my two cents.

No. Trust me. No.
