Can Hyperthyroids cause sterility in women eventually?

I have a hyperthyroid and I talked to my doctor about what will happen when I am ready to have kids. He said that because of the hyperthyroid it might be harder to get pregnant but as long as its treated there should not be any problems.
I had also heard that untreated hyper thyroids can cause newborns to have growth deficiencies but he said that was not true either.
Just get yourself treated! You'll feel better!
