might be hair falling and medication
it would be something your doctor would have to deside which one would be the best for you.
You are speaking my language. I have been having high blood pressure since 1981 and no matter what treatment or medications I always wound up in emergency and I had a few strokes.
After all these years, I am seeing a doctor of Internal medicine because last year I was in the emergency room for uncontroled high blood pressure and he found the cause. It is Thyroid. Yes, thryoid. So, to control the blood pressure I take everyday in the morning Enalapril (generic for Vasotec) and at night Norvasc. Along with these I take 100 mgs of Syntroid for the Thyroids. This medication can not be used with diet pills, nor diet treatments because this pill is to help the thyroids work again and will help you lose weight with a correct diet to help. Some people may have second effects such as liver problems. I have to do blood tests each time before I see my doctor so as to see how my liver is. So far, I have no side effects what so ever and my thryoids are in normal range. My doctor is wonderful. Here is what he did so if you see a doctor, he can do the same which is the correct way.
First he saw my high blood pressure, weight and my medical history.
Then based on my age, weight and medical he gave me Syntroid at 25mgs.once a day.
After two months with blood test, I was still high and he gradually raised the dosage up to 50, and so on until he found that 100mgs works for me. I feel good, my weight well, I eat and should watch. My case is soda, no other candy or cakes, just soda. But with Syntroid you have to drink a lot of water because the pill calls for it and it helps you urinate more which is good because you take the unnecessary water out.
A doctor several years back did diagnose me with thyroid problems and was upset because I had a prescription from a doctor at the emergency room a year before and she claimed that the discovery of my problem was her finding and no one elses. So she gave me a medication for it but I believe she over doced me because the second effects were just killing me, I had pains constanly in my chest, bad breathing, vomiting, nausea, head aches and blurred vision.
But now with my doctor, he did the right thing and now I am doing good and my thryroids are ok. I mention all this because the more you know the better view and understanding you will have from a person who is going through this. Mine can not be operated on but some do operate. But be sure you doctor does all the tests and explains to you in details for your benefit.
Some feel only slightly better, others feel a lot better, and a rare few feel 100%. I'm hypothyroid. I'd say I feel about 95%. The only symptoms that didn't go away are cold feet at night and ridged fingernails. When I was on Levoxyl, I still had almost every symptom. The Levoxyl didn't help at all. Now on Armour, I feel so much better.

With this condition you need to be at the right lab numbers and know what this means and be on the right medication for you. It's all a matter of doing your research. Links below

BTW, always test first thing in the morning
No, If you have low thyroid (hypothyroidism), you will be put on medication . The medication will help
but you will always have a harder time losing weight then someone who doesnt have a thyroid problem. Use a good conditioner for you hair and some lotion for you body.
It should if the problems were only caused by an under active thyroid. Thyroid medication for an under active thyroid, is thyroid hormones. So you are taking hormones your body lacks, and at the correct dose all you symptoms should disappear.

Some people also have a problem converting these hormones in the body and do better with natural hormones over synthetic.

Also the correct dose can sometimes take time to find. You need to have blood tests to find it. My dose seems to fluctuate more than most, I get test every 2 months. Normal after the correct dose is found is 6 months.
