Answers:
The most common cause of this is excessive use of artificial sweeteners found in sweets, chewing gum and soft drinks, and also in some fat substitutes found in "diet" foods. Artificial "sugars" and such attract fluid your bowel can't absorb, and it comes out the other end. Cut all of these out, and if you still have a problem follow the advice of the blonde highlights person above.
Leakage of stool onto the perianal skin and itching of the perianal skin are fairly common. Abnormal sphincter relaxation, anorectal diseases (fistula, abscess, fissure, warts and others), dermatological problems (psoriasis, dermatitis), infections (fungus, parasites), antibiotics, diabetes, liver disease, poor hygeine (vigorous rubbing, too much soap), warmth and moisture, diet (coffee, tea, cola, milk, beer, wine, tomatoes, citrus fruits, chocolate) and anxiety are among the causes identified. Treatment is specific for anorectal, dermatologic and infectious causes, but most patients will improve with the following general approach:

1) stop all antibiotics
2) modify diet as stated above
3) discontinue laxatives, use a bulking agent such as Metamucil or Citrucel
4) after elimination wash the anal area with little soap
5) moistened rectal wipes should be used if washing is not possible
6) avoid wipes containing witch hazel, perfumes or alcohol
7) use a lubricating lotion after gentle drying (example: Balneol)
8) non-medicated talcum powder is dusted on the skin and a small piece of cotton is placed against the anus to absorb moisture

If these conservative measures do not help, I would recommend an evaluation by a colorectal specialist. I hope you find this information helpful.
