Cancer radiology?
Question:
Answers:
Both chemo and radiation can put the body in an unbalanced catabolic metabolism.
Cancer thrives in a catabolic metabolism. Unfortunately almost all doctors are unaware of this. Yet doctors do understand that radiation treatments can cause cancer. They just don't realize that it is the unbalanced catabolic metabolism that promotes it.
Oftentimes, radiation is suggested not to cure or put someone into remission but to reduce the pain. This is called palliative treatment.
I cured my own Stage 4 cancer in two weeks. It cost me about $10. That was nine years ago, so inflation might have set in. ;-)
Good luck and be well.

It depends on a lot of things.
Type of cancer, where has it spread, how big is it, etc.
You need to talk with a radiation oncologist for more information. You will not get good information here.
Your oncologist will tell you the purpose of the additional treatment and the radiation oncologist can tell you more about its success. Sometimes the additional treatment is to go beyond the chemo in attempting to cure. In other cases it can be preventative or precautionary with radiation to the remnants of a tumor that remains but appears benign. That tumor is the most likely place the cancer would return and the radiation may prevent it from doing so.
Your question needs to be answered by your oncologist, but I understand that sometimes you just need someone 'outside' to ask these really confronting things - and its not always at a convenient time of day or night that these things go round your head. Alot of it is about just wanting to talk things through with someone who may have been there done it. Someone who's not medical, but has lived it. Big hugs to you, I hope all goes well. Lots of factors in your case - ask alot of questions and keep asking until you get answers. xo
It is as the first person said.It depends on the type of cancer, stage, where its located.Radiation is very effective for many cancers so,see a Radiation Oncologist.
