What are the odds of me getting this?

Question:
this monday i was babysitting a child whos father started throwing up sunday night. i kept her at her grandmothers house that monday so i was never in the house. anywho, today (wednesday) she woke up with it as well. what are the chances of me catching this bug since i was around her monday? she fell asleep with her dad on the couch that sunday night before he started getting sick so im pretty sure thats why she has it today. but im just wondering if she was contagious monday when i was aorund her and if i was going to get it, would i have it by now? im so scared of stomach bugs so i really need to know!

Answers:
Not unless you lip kissed the child...I wouldnt worry about it.
you're probably gettin' it.stay away from people you love to keep them safe
With most stomach bugs, your risks are pretty low. With some, fortunately uncommon, they're quite high. Common things being common, I'd bet on the former.
really good
I would not worry so much about it. Just incase drink lots of orange juice, the vitamin c will help build your immune system and chances of not getting it are better. And even if you were not destined to get it then the orange juice will still do the body good.
You cannot tell. The expression is often very different in different people. You may only get a mild case. Some virus can travel on the wind for 25 miles. Small pox infected people who lived in different ppartments in the same building without any contact.

Wash your hands, try to not touch your mouth, eyes and nose.
Well, if your sanitary (example: washing hands properly, sanitizing everything the child has touched), and not lettin' the child salivate or excrete any bodily fluids on you, you may be safe. Who knows 'cause you never mentioned exactly what the child and the father had. If it's the flu and you came in contact with the child, whether she breathed on you or not, more and likely, you've got it. It's impossible to sanatize EVERYTHING a child has touched 'cause when they or we breathe, we sometimes put pathogens off in the air. So, I'd just keep a watch for yourself and as soon as you start noticing symptoms, go to the doctor and explain what happened.
sounds like the fricken flu I just caught yesterday. vomiting, stomach pain, feeling chilled and muscle ache and head ache. Does that sound similar? Because I have not ever had a summer flu and I sure got one this year! Take Care
