Help! I need to know how to unclog my ear! it hurts :/?
Question:
i've tried yawning, swallowing, and it just wont pop
Answers:
OMG I hated that, I tried everything and the only thing that worked was an eye dropper with peroxide- or squeeze a peroxide soaked cotton ball letting the peroxide drip into your ear hold your head the drops go in all the way, you will hear fizzing sounds- let it fizz a bit then turn head to shake out the excess peroxide, do this about 3 x unless your ear feels better by the first or second try. If it doesn't work- rest a bit, wait about an hour and do it again.
I did this and it felt so darn good, it took about 3 times of peroxide drops I let it sit in there and fizz away, when I shook my head to release the peroxide the 3rd time it was incredible, I feel for you, it is so annoying you want to cry.
{{hugs}}
PS do not poke anything like q-tips in the ear, you will only make it worse- stick with just peroxide.
http://www.ear-candles.net . Try an ear candle or cone, Check out the website. Its available at natural remedy stores.
Could well be tinnitus. I have had it for years and you do finally get used to it. It could also be an infection, so see your doc!
You have to go to the hospital and they will blow out your ears...
look in your phone book and call the hospital there are poeple on the "ask a nurse" you can talk to they are registered nurses so they know what they are talking about and if they don't have the ask a nurse program just ask to speak to a nurse anyway.
first, do you have any allergy symptoms.this can cause the clogging. sometimes sinusitis can contribute to it. but if you are feeling pain maybe your ears are infected... it may be best if you see a doctor
you may have a ear infection you should see your dr. sometimes when you have a ear infection you will feel like it is blocked up or thereis water in there also if you swim you can have swimmers ear and all you need for that is some drops you can get at a drug store.
There are some drops that you can buy call swimmers ear; even if you have not been swimming it works. But if you can't go out just get a small amount of alcohol on a cotton ball and allow it to drain down in your ear. Keep the cotton ball in the ear to keep air out of the ear. You may also have an inner ear infection and my require some antibiotics.
It's probably infected and you have fluid in you middle ear. Go to Dr.
It sounds like you are blocked of with ear wax, and you might also have an infection. I can tell you what we do in the ED: Ear wax removal drops with a cotton ball...hold drops in place on your side for 20-30 minutes to soften up the wax. We then take a mix solution of warm water, hydrogen peroxide, and make a flush device. OTC version with the ear drops come with a syringe or something you fill up with the solution and then **shoot** it into your ear canal. The key to this is you must straighten out the ear canal by pulling on the outside of the ear area...pull out and up, to allow the wax to have a direction to come out. tilt your head into the sink or bathtub when you flush...use gravity. You may have to do this a number of times until it flushes clear. I will say that it is kinda gross what you sometimes have some out. Also, do not be alarmed at the bubbly action of the hydrogen peroxide. You hear it as you flush.
This does not take away from the fact you may have an infection. Only a medical professional with an otoscope can determine this. You may be needing some antibioitcs...
Question:
Can you advise me on how to quiet the constant ringing and buzzing in my ears?
Answer:
Tinnitus -- "ringing in the ears" -- affects an estimated 35 million Americans. But tinnitus isn't just a ringing, it can also be heard as a buzzing, roaring, hissing, clicking, high-pitched whining, low-pitched hum, even a heart-like pulsing.
Tinnitus is actually a symptom of some common medical problems, such as:
ear infection
wax impaction
noise exposure (like rock concerts)
TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders
even a side effect of medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, caffeine, or birth control pills
Tinnitus may also be a symptom of more serious illnesses such as high blood pressure, anxiety/depression, diabetes, thyroid disorders, Ménière's disease, blood vessel disorders, or tumors.
There are two types of tinnitus:
subjective tinnitus, when the sounds a sufferer hears may be perceived as very loud and only heard by them
objective tinnitus, a less common condition when the sounds can be heard by the sufferer and a medical provider using a stethoscope
Earwax:
Earwax is a naturally produced substance that protects the ear canal. It is a mixture of skin, sweat, hair, and debris (such as shampoo and dirt) held together with a fluid secreted by glands inside the ear canal (ceruminous glands). The ear canals are self-cleaning.
Earwax helps filter dust, keeps the ears clean, and protects the ear canal from infection. Normally, earwax is a self-draining liquid that does not cause problems. As the skin of the ear canal sheds, the wax is carried to the outer part of the ear canal and drains from the ear by itself.
Earwax ranges in color from light to dark brown or orange. In children, earwax is usually softer and lighter than the earwax produced by adults. Children produce a lot of earwax, which tapers off as they grow older.
Earwax is normally produced only in the outer half of the ear canal and will not become deeply impacted unless it is pushed in. The ear canal may become blocked (impacted) when attempts to clean the ear with cotton swabs, bobby pins, or a finger push wax deeply into the ear canal. Impacted earwax may cause some hearing loss or other problems, such as ringing in the ears (tinnitus), a full feeling in the ears, or vertigo. Poking at the wax with cotton swabs, your fingers, or other objects usually only further compacts the wax against the eardrum.
Most earwax problems can be handled with home treatment. Professional help may be needed to remove tightly packed earwax.
Pour some hydrogen peroxide in your ear (not too much) when your head is tilted to the side, let it sit in there and sizzle awhile.Hold a towel next to ear when finished and put your head back up.Lay with your bad ear on a heating pad,it will feel better in no time.
