Question:
Im 15 and have been taking mincin or minocycline fo my acne. at first i was only taking one at bed time, but after my first treatment he raised the dose to twice a day. it worked wonders for since i started taking them with hardly any blemishes at all. but half way through my second treatment on the maximum dose i started to notice that the minocin still felt as if it was stuck in the back of throat even after drinking two full glasses of water. this has been going on for three weeks now and since then my acne has been flaring up and its like i wasnt on anything. so anyways i was wondering if this has happened to any one els and what i could do to help it go down, also whether it will just go back to normal in time.
thank you

This is a common reaction some people have to swallowing capsules. Minocycline also comes in a tablet (though not as common as the capsule)
If you can't get the tablet (or it doesn't work) I would talk to your doctor about another medicine (Doxycycline Tabs worked for me)
If you have trouble swallowing, cut it in half or ask your doctor if it is okay to crush the pills and take them with a little applesauce or pudding.
Yeah, that is a common problem, and it used to happen to me as well. Sometimes i even got an acid-reflux burn fromt eh meds.
I used to keep them in my mouth for a few seconds,..let the gelcaps get soft, then down them with something smoother, milk, or something sweet to get the saliva glands goin.
Good luck!
