Answers:
Lots of people get freaked out about HIV. "Living with" someone who "claims to" have HIV doesn't put you at risk of getting HIV. You have to be having unprotected sex or sharing needles to be at risk.

It sounds like your friend is unhappy with her university course, and upset about her recent relationship. She sounds like a normal older adolescent or young adult dealing with normal issues. Give her lots of support, and don't judge her.

If she's worried about HIV get her to talk to a sympathetic doctor about whether it's worth her while getting a test.

You sound like a good friend.
snout gave a very good answer, *applause*, but to further comment, does he CLAIM to be infected? or is he actually infected, b/c if he claimed it then he knows he can give it to other people, and when someone that has HIV knows it, and intentionally gave it to someone else, he can go to prison for 3 years minimum for that. so he better watch himself before someone decides to take action, so he better man up and speak the truth.
